Rob Knight is an American microbiologist renowned for his contributions to the field of microbiome research. He completed his Ph.D. in Molecular Evolution at the University of Chicago in 2004 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Knight later joined the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he became a Professor of Pediatrics and Computer Science. In 2015, he moved to the University of California, San Diego, where he co-founded the Center for Microbiome Innovation.
