Rob Kitchin is a highly accomplished academic and researcher who has made significant contributions to the field of geography. He began his career as a lecturer at Queen's University in Belfast before moving on to a post at NUI Maynooth. In 2002, Kitchin became the Director of NIRSA, a position he held until 2013.
Currently, he is an ERC Advanced Investigator and the PI of the Programmable City project. Kitchin has published extensively across the social sciences, with over 140 articles, book chapters, and 23 books to his name.
