After serving as the company's general counsel for over four years, Rob Chesnut was appointed as the Chief Ethics Officer of Airbnb, Inc. in late 2019. Rob holds degrees from both the University of Virginia and Harvard Law School.
He spent 14 years working for the US Justice Department, prosecuting cases including espionage, murder, abduction, and bank robberies, including the trial of CIA agent Aldrich Ames. He joined eBay in 1999 as its third attorney, where he eventually formed the Trust and Safety team and oversaw the legal department for North America.
