Rick Tramonto is an American chef and restaurateur known for his culinary expertise in modern American cuisine. He was born on February 16, 1960, in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Chicago, where he developed a love for food and cooking at an early age.
Tramonto attended culinary school in Vermont and worked at various restaurants nationwide before settling in Chicago, where he opened his first restaurant, Tru, in 1999. Tru was awarded four stars by the Chicago Tribune and received numerous accolades for its innovative cuisine.
