Rick Shapiro is a comedian and actor located in Los Angeles. Shapiro is a New Jersey native. Shapiro began his career as a comedian at Catch A Rising Star on Broadway in the early 1980s, after spending his early years in New York City and New Jersey. He performed and starred in a number of Louis C.K.
films, including Tomorrow Night, during the 1990s, in addition to performing regularly on stage. In Late Night with Conan O'Brien, he also played the recurring character Angry Poet. Shapiro's debut comedy CD, Unconditional Love, was published in 1998, and Billboard described it as "hard-edged and uncompromising." Shapiro's work in several sectors continues throughout the 2000s.
