Richard Alan Rick Mastracchio is a NASA astronaut and an American engineer. In addition to serving as a Flight Engineer on the Soyuz TMA-11M long-duration mission on the International Space Station, he has flown on three NASA Space Shuttle flights as a mission specialist.
From 1982 until 1987, Mastracchio worked as an engineer in the system design division of Hamilton Standard in Connecticut. He worked on the creation of high-performance inertial measurement units and flight control computers during that period.
