Rick Lagina is a reality TV personality and treasure hunter who rose to fame as the lead investigator on the History Channel series "The Curse of Oak Island." Born in Kingsford, Michigan, in 1952, Lagina had a lifelong fascination with Oak Island, a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, where treasure hunters have been searching for centuries for a rumored treasure buried deep beneath the ground.
In 2006, Lagina and his brother Marty purchased a controlling interest in the island and began their treasure hunt. Their quest has been chronicled on the popular reality series. It follows their attempts to unearth the island's many mysteries and treasures, often with unexpected results.
