Rick Hearst is an American actor who has appeared in several popular soap operas. He played Scott "Scotty" Banning II in Days of Our Lives (1989-1990), Alan-Michael Spaulding in Guiding Light (1990-1996), Matt Clark in The Young and the Restless (2000-2001), and Whipple "Whip" Jones III in The Bold and the Beautiful (2002). Since 2002, Hearst has starred as Ric Lansing in General Hospital. He has also had recurring guest-star roles on Beverly Hills 90210 and has guest-starred on other TV series such as Jenny and Pacific Blue. Hearst has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award six times, winning twice. He won Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for The Guiding Light in 1991 and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for General Hospital in 2004. The character Ric Lansing has been through an evolutionary process at General Hospital, which has made him stepdad to his brother's offspring. Rick has been married to his wife, Donna Smoot, since 1990, and they have two sons.
