Lieutenant Colonel Rick Francona, a retired U.S. Air Force intelligence officer, served with the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Central Intelligence Agency. He has extensive experience in the Middle East, having served in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, and traveled operationally throughout the region.
Rick played a critical role in discovering Iraqi chemical weapons use against Iranian troops while serving as a liaison officer to the Iraqi armed forces intelligence service during the Iran-Iraq War. During the Gulf War, he also served as the personal interpreter and advisor in Iraq to General Norman Schwarzkopf.
