Richie Parker is an American engineer who has succeeded despite being born without arms. He was raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, and learned to use his feet to perform daily tasks like eating, dressing, and driving. After graduating from high school, Parker attended Greenville Technical College and then Clemson University, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering.
Parker’s remarkable skills and determination led him to land a job at Hendrick Motorsports. This racing team competes in NASCAR. As a chassis and body component designer, Parker uses computer-aided design (CAD) software and his feet to create the intricate parts needed for the team’s cars to perform at their best.
