Richard Wilkinson is a British social epidemiologist and author known for his advocacy work and left-wing political activism. He previously served as Professor Emeritus of Social Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham before retiring in 2008.

Wilkinson currently holds the Honorary Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health position at University College London and is a Visiting Professor at the University of York.
