Richard Pyle is a renowned biodiversity explorer who has made groundbreaking discoveries on coral reef cliffs. He was one of the first to employ rebreather technology to explore the Twilight Zone, an area between 200 and 500 feet deep. He has identified and documented numerous new species during his dives.
Pyle is the author of multiple scientific, technical, and popular articles. His expeditions have been featured in various documentaries, including the IMAX film Coral Reef Adventure and the BBC series Pacific Abyss.
