Richard Phillips Feynman was an American theoretical physicist who worked on the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, quantum electrodynamics theory, and the physics of supercooled liquid helium superfluidity, as well as particle physics, where he created the parton model.
In 1965, Feynman shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with Julian Schwinger and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga for their contributions to the creation of quantum electrodynamics. Feynman diagrams are a widely used graphical representation technique for mathematical equations regulating the behavior of subatomic particles that he devised. Feynman became one of the most well-known physicists in the world throughout his lifetime.
