Richard Browne is a Paralympic athlete who has earned a name for himself in the track and field world. He was born in 1991 and grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where he played football and basketball in high school. However, he never ran track until after a traumatic accident in 2009 left him as a below-the-knee amputee.
Browne gained international attention at the London 2012 Paralympic Games when he won a silver medal in the highly anticipated men's T44 100-meter dash. He then set his sights on the Rio Paralympic Games, where he aimed for gold.
