Rhoda Israelov is a renowned physicist and academic who has significantly contributed to condensed matter physics. She is a Professor Emerita at the University of California, Berkeley, where she spent most of her academic career. Israelov earned her undergraduate degree in physics from Brooklyn College in 1958 and her Ph.D. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1963.
She then joined the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, where she would remain until her retirement in 2004. Throughout her career, Israelov made significant contributions to the field of condensed matter physics, particularly in the area of disordered systems. Her research focused on studying the properties of matter in disordered states, such as glasses and spin glasses.
