Rex Archer is a physician and public health official currently serving as the Director of Health for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. He has worked in public health for over 35 years, starting his career as a Medical Epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.
He later served as the Director of the Kansas City Health Department from 1998 to 2005. He held leadership positions with the Missouri Department of Health and the St. Louis Health Department. Throughout his career, Dr. Archer has strongly advocated public health policies and practices, including efforts to address health disparities and promote healthy living in underserved communities.
