Reimund Schwarze is a German economist and climate policy researcher. He is the Deputy Director of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany. He is also an Environmental Policy and Economics Professor at the University of Leipzig. His research focuses on the economic analysis of environmental policy, particularly climate change, and managing natural hazards such as floods.
He has authored or co-authored numerous books and articles on these topics, including "The Economics of Climate Change" and "Flood Risk Management: Hazards, Vulnerability, and Mitigation Measures." Dr. Schwarze has also been involved in numerous international research projects on climate policy, including the European Commission's Integrated Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Strategies project.
