Reggie Brown was up in a working-class area on Chicago's south side. Reggie returned to Chicago after graduating from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, with a degree in advertising. At the Acting Studios Chicago, he polished his acting and voicing techniques. Reggie was a Fearless Radio contributor, the presenter of Akira TV for the fashion-forward Chicago store, and emceed fashion events and runway presentations at some of the city's most renowned venues. Reggie won a Chicago/Midwest Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Alternative Media New Media Interactivity as a member of the NBC 5 Street Team in September 2008. People began approaching Reggie even before Barack Obama declared his candidacy for state senator, telling him that he looked uncannily like Professor Obama. Reggie's life and profession were forever transformed on November 4, 2008. He grabbed his megaphone and proceeded to Grant Park for Obama's acceptance speech after learning that he had won.
