She reported major events such as the 9/11 attacks in New York and the Arab Spring. In addition to her journalism career, Redi is also a published author. Her book "Endings and Beginnings: A Story of Healing" is a memoir that explores her personal journey of overcoming childhood trauma and healing from the wounds of apartheid. Redi is best known for her work as a radio presenter. She hosted her show on Talk Radio 702 for several years before moving to the SABC.
