Rebecca Stead is a celebrated American author of children's and young adult literature. Stead graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English and later earned a Master's degree from New York University in Writing for Children and Young Adults. She worked as a lawyer before becoming a full-time author.
Stead's debut novel, "First Light," was published in 2007. It won the Newbery Medal, one of the highest honors in children's literature. Her subsequent novels, including "When You Reach Me" (2009), "Liar & Spy" (2012), and "Goodbye Stranger" (2015), have also received critical acclaim and have been named finalists for numerous awards.
