Rebecca Nagle is an award-winning Cherokee Nation citizen, journalist, and activist. She grew up in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, where her family’s history intersects with key events like the Trail of Tears, where her great-great-great-great-grandfather, Major Ridge, signed the controversial 1835 Treaty of New Echota, which led to Cherokee removal.

Named to the Native American 40 Under 40 in 2016, she advocates against violence toward Native women and for tribal sovereignty. As host of the acclaimed podcast “This Land”, she unpacked the McGirt v. Oklahoma Supreme Court case, revealing half of Oklahoma as reservation land and tying it to her Cherokee roots.
