Rebecca Kelly Slaughter is a commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), an independent agency of the US government that aims to promote consumer protection and fair competition. She was nominated by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Senate in 2018.
Before joining the FTC, Slaughter served as chief counsel to Senator Chuck Schumer, advising on consumer protection, competition policy, and telecommunications matters. She also worked as an FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection staff attorney. She served as a law clerk to Judge Tatel of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals.
