Raymund Paredes is a former Commissioner of Higher Education for Texas, serving from 2004 to 2019. Paredes is a first-generation college graduate, earning his Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
