Dr. Raymond A. Winbush, a well-known human rights and social justice activist, is the Director of Morgan State University's Institute for Urban Research in Baltimore, Maryland, and the former Benjamin Hooks Professor of Social Justice and Director of Fisk University's Race Relations Institute.
He is the author of three books, the most recent of which is Belinda's Petition: A Concise History of Reparations for the Transatlantic Slave Trade (Xlibris, 2009), a "prequel" to his book Should America Pay?: Slavery and the Raging Debate on Reparations, which was published by HarperCollins in 2003 and quickly reached the top of Essence Magazine's bestseller list.
