Ray Lampe was raised in Chicago and worked for his family's trucking company for 25 years after graduating from high school. Ray's trucking firm had run its course by the year 2000, and it was time for him to attempt something new.
He had been competing in BBQ cookoffs as a hobby since 1982, and he wanted to convert his passion into a vocation. Ray relocated to Florida in 2000 and began his profession as an expert in outdoor cooking. Ray has seven cookbooks under his belt and is working on his eighth.
