Rawi E. Abdelal is the Herbert F. Johnson Professor of International Management at Harvard Business School, where he also serves as faculty co-chair of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative. He earned a B.S. in Economics from Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Government from Cornell University.
An expert in international political economy, his research focuses on globalization and the political economy of Eurasia. His first book, “National Purpose in the World Economy” (2001), won the 2002 Shulman Prize, while “Capital Rules” (2007) examines global financial systems. He has received Harvard’s Greenhill, Apgar, and Williams Awards for teaching excellence.
