Raquel Salas Rivera is a Puerto Rican poet and translator. Salas Rivera studied at the University of Puerto Rico, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature. They later earned an MFA in Poetry from New York University. In addition to their own poetry, Salas Rivera has translated works by poets including Julia de Burgos and Jack Spicer.

Salas Rivera's poetry explores themes of colonialism, migration, and gender identity, often through a lens of social justice and activism. Their debut collection, "Caneca de anhelos turbios" (2011), was awarded the 2010-2011 Poetry Prize from the PEN Club of Puerto Rico, and their second collection, "O xólotl anahuac" (2015), was the winner of the 2014-2015 Fence Modern Poets Series Prize.
