Randy E. Barnett is a legal scholar and Georgetown University Law Center professor. He is widely known for his expertise in constitutional law and has authored numerous books and articles on the subject. Barnett is considered one of the leading voices in the movement to restore the Constitution's original meaning and limit the scope of federal power.

Barnett received his Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and his law degree from Harvard Law School. He later earned a Master's in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After practicing law for several years, Barnett began teaching at the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1989.
