Rami Malek is an American actor of Egyptian heritage that grew up in Sherman Oaks, California. Malek pursued a career in acting after graduating from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2003. He began his career with minor roles in television shows and movies before landing his breakthrough role in the "Mr.
Robot" series in 2015. Malek's portrayal of Elliot Alderson in "Mr. Robot" earned him widespread critical acclaim and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2016. He has since starred in several high-profile films, including "Bohemian Rhapsody" (2018), in which he played Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the rock band Queen.
