Ralph J. Szygenda is an American business executive and former Chief Information Officer (CIO) of General Motors (GM). He is also a member of the Board of Directors at Akamai Technologies and Aptiv PLC. Szygenda is considered a pioneer in information technology and is known for his leadership in implementing cutting-edge technologies at GM.
During his tenure as CIO, he spearheaded the integration of new systems, including cloud computing, mobile computing, and advanced analytics. He also established the industry’s largest private telecommunications network. Before joining GM, Szygenda worked at Texas Instruments and Chrysler Corporation. He was also a United States Air Force member and served as a computer systems analyst.
