Queen Noor of Jordan, born Lisa Najeeb Halaby, is an American humanitarian and philanthropist. She received her education at schools in the United States and abroad, including Princeton University, where she earned a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning. In 1977, she married King Hussein of Jordan and became Queen Noor.
As queen, she advocated for various issues, including human rights, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability. She founded and led the Noor Al Hussein Foundation, which promoted economic development and gender equality in Jordan. Since the death of her husband in 1999, Queen Noor has continued her work in philanthropy and diplomacy.
