Priscilla Warner was born and raised in Rhode Island, a state founded by Roger Williams, a religious freedom advocate. Her parents enrolled her in a Hebrew Day school, where she was taught Torah, Jewish history, and Hebrew.
They then enrolled her in a Quaker school, where she attended silent meetings, sung hymns in the chapel, and sang Christmas songs to the infant Jesus every year.
