Pradeep Khosla is an Indian-American engineer and academic. He is currently at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) chancellor. Before this role, he was the dean of the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Khosla was born in India and earned his bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
He moved to the United States in the 1980s to pursue graduate studies in engineering. He earned his master's and Ph.D. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout his career, Khosla has strongly advocated diversity and inclusion in science and engineering. He has also been recognized for his research on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and integrated circuits.
