Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley form the Pistol Annies, a country music supergroup. Lonestar Annie (Lambert), Hippie Annie (Monroe), and Holler Annie were the women's nicknames (Presley). On April 4, 2011, the trio debuted on the Academy of Country Music's Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country, performing their tune Hell on Heels. On August 23, 2011, they published their debut album Hell on Heels, and in December 2011, they headlined three sold-out gigs with special guests John Fogerty and Blake Shelton. On The Chieftains' 2012 album Voice of Ages, the trio was featured on the track Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies. The song Run Daddy Run by the Pistol Annies is featured on the soundtrack album The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond. At the 2012 CMT Music Awards, the band performed their autobiographical hit Takin' Pills. On May 7, 2013, the trio's second studio album, Annie Up, was released. Hush Hush, the lead song, was the Pistol Annies' first chart appearance on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list in the United States. Boys 'Round Here, from Blake Shelton's 2013 album Based on a True Story, features the group as well. The Annies did a rendition of Tulsa Time in 2017, which was included on the Gentle Giants: The Songs of Don Williams tribute album, which was published on May 26. The Pistol Annies revealed three songs off their latest album, Interstate Gospel, on September 26, 2018. Interstate Gospel was released on November 2, 2018. Interstate Gospel received a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2019.
