Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley form the Pistol Annies, a country music supergroup. Lonestar Annie (Lambert), Hippie Annie (Monroe), and Holler Annie were the women's nicknames (Presley). On April 4, 2011, the trio debuted on the Academy of Country Music's Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country, performing their tune Hell on Heels.
On August 23, 2011, they published their debut album Hell on Heels, and in December 2011, they headlined three sold-out gigs with special guests John Fogerty and Blake Shelton. On The Chieftains' 2012 album Voice of Ages, the trio was featured on the track Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies.
