Phil Woodmore Biography

Phil Woodmore is a highly accomplished and respected figure in the world of music education. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. With over a decade of teaching experience under his belt, Woodmore has become an expert in choir directing. For the past ten years, he has been the choir director at Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District. Before that, he taught choir at Ferguson and Berkley Middle School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. In addition to his work in education, Woodmore is also a Voice Program Coordinator at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA) and serves as the COCA artist director of the Allegro Music Company. He has also made significant contributions to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Choir and the Northern Arizona University Gospel Choir as a director. Woodmore was even appointed as the Artist in Residency for the State of Arizona for a two-year term from 2016 to 2018. Recently, Woodmore has been named as the director of the St. Louis Community Gospel Choir in partnership with Forest Park Community College, where he also serves as an adjunct professor. Alongside his professional commitments, he also serves as the minister of music at Trinity Community Church.
