Phil Knight is a philanthropist and business mogul from the United States. He is the co-founder and chairman of Nike, Inc., and formerly served as the company's chief executive officer. He is an Oregon native. Knight was named the 56th richest person in the world by Forbes in 2013. He is America's 24th wealthiest man.
Knight, a graduate of the University of Oregon and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, has given hundreds of millions of dollars to both schools; in 2006, he gave Stanford's business school the biggest contribution in history. At his alma institution, he ran track for Bill Bowerman, with whom he would later co-found Nike.
