Peter Seligmann is an American environmental conservationist and the co-founder and Chairman of Conservation International. Seligmann's passion for nature and conservation began in his early childhood when he spent his summers on his grandparents' farm in upstate New York.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 1974 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1978. After practicing environmental law for several years, Seligmann co-founded Conservation International in 1987, which has since become one of the world's largest and most respected conservation organizations.
