Peter Schultz is a scientist from the United States. He is the current CEO and Professor of Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute, as well as the creator and previous head of GNF and the California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr), which he founded in 2012. Peter Schultz was named the top translational researcher in 2013 by Nature Biotechnology in August 2014. Professor Schultz has published over 500 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including several in the most renowned journals, such as Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Journal of the American Chemical Society. Over 300 graduate students and postdoctoral associates have been mentored by him, and many of them are now faculty members at prominent research universities. Professor Schultz is a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (1993), the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (1998), and several editorial and scientific advisory boards. He is the creator of Affymax Research Institute, Symyx Technologies, Syrrx, Kalypsys, Phenomics, Ilypsa, Ambrx, and Wildcat Discovery Technologies, all of which are leaders in the use of high-throughput technologies in chemistry, biology, medicine, and materials science.
