Peter Kongstvedt, MD, FACP, is a nationally recognized specialist in the healthcare sector, with a focus on health insurance and managed care. Dr. Kongstvedt is a Senior Health Policy Faculty Member in the Department of Health Administration and Policy at George Mason University, where he teaches graduate courses on the Essentials of Health Insurance and Managed Health Care.
He also advises health care executives on strategy, operations, and effective decision-making. He was appointed by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam in March of 2014. McAuliffe was appointed to the state's Board of Medical Assistance Services in 2016 and was reappointed by Governor Ralph Northam in 2018. He also advises Ankura Consulting Group, LLC and its clients as a Senior Advisor.
