Peabo Bryson has persisted and thrived despite the passage of time, changes in popular musical fads, and periodic periods of subpar content, because of his beautifully rich, almost operatic voice. Peabo was born in South Carolina and started performing when he was quite young.
He was working with producer Michael Zager's band (Let's All Chant) and recording as a solo artist in his early twenties, while also composing with other Bang/Bullet Records artists such as Paul Davis.
