Matthias Paul, best known by his stage name Paul van Dyk, is a Grammy Award-winning German DJ, musician, and record producer who specialises in electronic dance music. Paul van Dyk, one of the first major superstar DJs, was the first artist to get a Grammy nomination for his 2003 album Reflections in the newly introduced category of Best Dance/Electronic Album.
In 2005 and 2006, he was crowned the World's No. 1 DJ, a feat only a few DJs have ever accomplished. In 2005, he became the first DJ to be named No. 1 by Mixmag. He has sold over 3 million records globally by 2008.
