Paul Charron Biography

Paul R. Charron is a speaker and Senior Advisor at Warburg Pincus, a New York-based private equity firm, as well as the Campbell Soup Company's non-executive Chairman of the Board. He was previously the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Liz Claiborne Inc., a worldwide fashion and retail firm. In May of 1994, Paul Charron joined Liz Claiborne as vice chairman and chief operating officer. He was named president and chief executive officer a year later, and chairman in May 1996. In November 2006, he stepped down as CEO, and on December 31, 2006, he stepped down as Chairman of the Board. Charron has held senior roles on the boards of the National Retail Federation and the American Apparel and Footwear Association, among other business and humanitarian organizations. He is now the chair of the New York City Investment Fund's Retail and Tourism Sector and a director of Vital Voices Global Partnership. He just joined the Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy of the US Department of State. Charron is a frequent lecturer on themes such as CEO Perspectives, Turnarounds, The Business of Fashion, Integrating Acquisitions, and Corporate Governance and a Contemporary Board. Paul Charron graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in arts and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University. He served as a navy officer for five years and is a Vietnam war veteran. Charron and his wife Kathy presently live in Darien, Connecticut. They are the parents of two children.
