Pat Skerry, the head coach of the Towson University Tigers men's basketball team, was born on January 21, 1970. Skerry's first season as head coach saw the Tigers finish 1–31, with the lone win coming against UNC-Wilmington on January 28, 2012, ending the team's NCAA-record 41-game losing run.
Towson finished 18–13 the next year, ranking second in the Colonial Athletic Association and completing the NCAA's largest single-season improvement. Despite their strong finish, the Tigers were ineligible for the CAA and NCAA Tournaments owing to poor APR ratings attained under Pat Kennedy's predecessor.
