Pat worked at Nordstrom for 30 years, where his famous focus on service helped him build a client list of over 12,000 people. For 15 of those years, he was the top salesperson in the firm, has become the first employee to sell a million dollars worth of apparel in a single year.
The first version of Customer Service, the Nordstrom Way, which he co-authored with Robert Spector, was published by John Wiley & Sons in 1995. The book is now in its third edition and is available in six languages, with a fourth edition, including an electronic edition, planned for 2011. Many university business courses and MBA programs have utilized the book.
