Parnelli Jones is a retired racing driver and race car owner from the United States. He is well known for his achievements in the Indianapolis 500. He was the first driver to qualify at above 150 mph in 1962.
He won the race in 1963 and then memorably broke down in a turbine vehicle while leading the 1967 race with three laps to go. He won the Indy 500 with driver Al Unser, Sr. during his own career in 1970-1971.
