Pamela McBride works in the Well-Being Division of an Army corporate headquarters by monitoring evaluating and shaping policy of programs that are a part of a broad system of support services for soldiers and their families. She has also provided program management of Child Youth and School Services Army Family Team Building and Army Family Action Plan as a contractor to the Army Reserve as well as provided extensive individual career counseling and countless career management workshops during her more than 14 years of experience in the career counseling field. In addition to the challenges of working full-time having extensive business travel freelance writing and being the only parent at home while her husband was in Iraq for 15 months on his second deployment she is the co-author of two books: Work It Girl! The Black Woman's Guide to Professional Success and The Mocha Manual to Military Life: A Savvy Guide for Wives Girlfriends and Female Service Members (Amistad) with Kimberly Seals-Allers. The Mocha Manual to Military Life is an accessible informative guide for navigating life as a military spouse girlfriend or service woman.
