Osamu Nagata Biography

Toyota Motor Corporation's executive vice president is Osamu Nagata. In March 1980, he received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Tokyo, and in April of the same year, he joined Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). In January 2000, Nagata was transferred to Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. (now Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.). He was named division general manager of TMC's Miyoshi Plant Administration Division in January 2007. He was promoted to managing officer and became plant manager of the Miyoshi and Tahara plants in June 2009. In April 2011, Mr. Nagata was promoted to deputy chief officer of the External Affairs Group. He was appointed senior vice president of Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMA) in April 2013, as well as president and CEO of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. He joined TMC as a senior management officer, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the North America Region, and executive vice president in April 2015. Mr. Nagata was promoted to executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer of TMC in April 2017.
