Omer Aziz was born to working-class Pakistani-Canadian parents in Toronto and with the help of scholarships was educated at Queen's University the Paris Institute of Political Studies Cambridge University and Yale Law School. His writing has appeared in The New York Times The Washington Post The Atlantic Foreign Policy The New Republic and The Globe and Mail among others.
He previously worked for the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria for a start-up in Shanghai and most recently served as a policy adviser to the Foreign Minister of Canada.
