Norman Alpert was one of the founding partners of Vestar Capital in 1988. He has been responsible for originating negotiating and financing private equity investments in multiple industries and providing ongoing strategic direction to various portfolio companies. He currently manages the firms consumer media and communications practices. He is currently a Director of Border Media Partners MediMedia and St.
John Knits. Norm began his career in 1980 as a Commercial Banker at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company and was a member of the Special Finance Division from 1982 to 1984 when he left to become a member of the Management Buyout Group at The First Boston Corporation. Norm is originally from Winchester MA and lives in Purchase N.Y.
