Nic Stone

Andrea Nicole Livingstone, known as Nic Stone, is an American author of young adult and middle-grade fiction. She is best known for her debut novel, “Dear Martin” (2017), a New York Times bestseller inspired by the 2012 killing of Jordan Davis, which follows a Black teen, Justyce McAllister, navigating racial profiling and police violence while writing letters to Dr.

Martin Luther King Jr. The book, a William C. Morris Award finalist, was followed by sequels “Dear Justyce” (2020) and “Dear Manny” (2025). Her middle-grade debut, “Clean Getaway” (2020), and other works like “Odd One Out” (2018), “Jackpot “(2019), and “Chaos Theory” (2023) tackle race, identity, mental health, and sexuality.
